Police launch photograph of obvious noose in hate crime probe into Halloween ornament

Authorities launched a photograph of an obvious noose used to hold a Halloween ornament in North Amityville as police examine the incident as a doable hate crime.

A scarecrow was discovered hanging in a noose on the North Amityville Senior Heart, in response to police. They are saying the scarecrow had been moved from one other part of the property to the place it was hung.

In response to Suffolk County police, a scarecrow was taken from the entrance of the middle and positioned in a noose in the back of the property final week. It was hung from a pergola.

A former worker on the middle says it’s disturbing.

“That’s not proper, you recognize,” says Tom Dixon.

Dixon says the residents are somewhat frightened.

“They’re type of upset, particularly the seniors, on the place,” says Dixon. “They’re somewhat frightened.”

City of Babylon Councilman DuWayne Gregory says the incident is to not be taken frivolously and it raises a purple flag.

“It actually saddens us,” says Councilman Gregory. “But in addition is upsetting that some image of hate and violence like that will be present in a predominantly African-American neighborhood.”
